Visit Regina George's House from 'Mean Girls'

It was my parents' room, but I made them trade me

BY: V.Rhodes

Mean Girls (2004), motion picture, Paramount Pictures.

LOCATION

11 High Point Road, North York, Ontario M3B 2A3

Friendly reminder that this is a private residence, so please be respectful.

Did you know 2004 teen classic Mean Girl, was filmed in and around Toronto? Even though the movie is set in Evanston, Illinois a bunch of  buildings in the GTA are easily recognizable. Specifically the house of Queen Bee, Regina George (Rachel McAdams)!

We can all picture this scene. Regina drives up the driveway in her silver 2002 Lexus SC 430 wearing her “little bit dramatic” t-shirt, leading the rest of the girls into her house. The epitome of “it girl”.

Regina’s house is located in a very bougie Toronto neighbourhood: the Bridle Path. This house is around the corner from Drake’s Estate, Gordon Lightfoot’s Mansion, one of Elton John’s summer homes and a house that (the late) Prince used to own but lost in a divorce.

The interior shots are actually filmed at a different location. You can tell because when the girls drive up to the house there are windows on either side of the door, but in the next scene when they get into the house those windows disappear.

A few years ago the Regina George house was up for sale, and the realtor had included interior photos with the listing. This further confirms that in Mean Girls a different house was used for the interior.

CADY: “WOW, YOUR HOUSE IS REALLY NICE.”

REGINA: “I KNOW, RIGHT!”

GRETCHEN: [WHISPERING] “MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT HER MOM’S BOOB JOB. THEY’RE HARD AS ROCKS!”

If you’re a fan of the Disney Channel Halloween classic Twitches (2005), you’ll definitely be familiar with this house. The exterior shots were not only used for Regina's house, but were used for Camryn's house in Twitches.
